Kristen Reynolds is a Virginia-based fine artist who has spent the last two decades exploring through her art the natural world. Kristen's work has been on display in galleries throughout the East Coast. She has studied at the University of North Carolina, Boston University, and has her BFA from the University of Tennessee. The poignancy of her painted work draws its inspiration from the Abstract Expressionists.

Artist Statement

It seems to me that to make magic we must change the images we use to describe our world and ourselves. I am inspired by the image of a sentient planet spinning wriggling things out of its matrix in a kind of ecstatic dance. An intelligence, greater than we comprehend, purposely creates. We are a part of that intelligence. In our subconscious knowing, we are not the “real thing”, “just do it” generation drinking carbonated drinks and buying fast cars as our purpose, we know somewhere inside that we love to create too. What we create is up to us – an environment filled with beauty or turned to dust.
